Parents, families, and spectators are encouraged, and will be able, to watch their loved ones play. Pop-Up Patisserie will be onsite selling food and drinks. Fairview Road Urban Park is accessible either by public transportation or personal vehicle. There is ample street parking along the side of the park, as well as a parking garage across the street. If using the Metro, the Red Line Metro station at Silver Spring is the closest stop. There is also a bus stop at the intersection of Spring Street and Georgia Avenue (Stop ID: 2000214), as well as at the intersection of Colesville Road and Spring Street (Stop ID: 2000209).
General Chess Guidelines:
Players should be in grades 2 to 8 to participate.
Players must know the full rules of chess and obey standard rules of etiquette.
Players will not be required to record their moves.
General Event Guidelines:
Players are encouraged to register ahead of time, but it is not required.
Players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of their game.
Dogs are permitted at the event, but must be leashed and picked up after.
This event is free, but food and drinks are available for purchase.
